In an unwelcome future of biomining, a crew of skeletons operate a floating fish farm. The only signs of life in a dead ocean are found in the hydrothermal plumes where escaping minerals feed giant larvae-like bioaccumulators. In this perverse destiny of biomining, the beastly cocoons are cultivated before being cut loose for harvesting.
